E Sciences Participates in US EPA Region 4 Training
Drew Allan, a Project Manager in E Sciences' Orlando office was recently invited to participate in a course presented by the US EPA Region 4 Science & Ecosystem Support Division (SESD) titled “Hazardous Waste Site Sampling” conducted in Athens, GA.
This two-day course was presented by US EPA staff to the Georgia regulatory community, including the state's Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Department and other agencies. Mr. Allan attended the training at the invitation of Mr. Charles Piwowarski, Environmental Manager for Hanson Pipe and Products.
The training covered topics such as QA/QC procedures, well development, waste sampling, surface water and sediment sampling, air monitoring and groundwater sampling. Several of these topics touched on issues that Drew deals with on a daily basis while working for E Sciences' clients in Florida.
According to Drew, “Florida’s sampling SOPs are very much in line with the US EPA Methods.” Existing and new E Sciences clients can now be assured that their waste is being sampled under the newest and most progressive techniques and methods.
