David M. Mahnken, Senior Scientist
Congratulations to David Mahnken, who recently earned his Masters of Science degree in Water and Soil Science from the University of Florida, marking the culmination of many years of hard work and research.
He specializes in the biogeochemistry of soils and aquatic ecosystems, and is currently working on publishing a journal article based on his graduate research project (the fate and transformation of norflurazonin in upland and aquatic ecosystems).
David is also developing a reference article for the University of Florida's IFAS (Institute of Food and Agricultural Science) Electronic Data Information Source.
David was recently honored along with other graduates from the UF/IFAS Indian River Research and Education Center (IRREC) in Ft. Pierce to recognize the work this year's graduates had completed in their fields of study at the IRREC. David worked with the IRREC through UF's Distance Education Program and worked with Dr. Chris Wilson to study the degradation pathways of herbicides in uplands and aquatic ecosystems.
