E Sciences Removes Invasive Species at Orlando City Park
As part of E Sciences' corporate commitment to serving our local communities, members of the Orlando office recently spent an afternoon maintaining the landscape at Dickson Azalea Park in Orlando.
The 3.4-acre park is set in an older residential section of Orlando, approximately 1.5 miles east of the company's downtown headquarters. The park is set in an area that once served as a watering hole for cattle ranchers to quench the thirst of their cattle in Fern Creek.
The E Sciences work crew worked under the direction of the city's "Green-Up Orlando" staff to trim azalea bushes and other plants, to remove non-native and invasive species such as air potato vines, and to remove hydrilla and other aquatic weeds from the creekbed.
E Sciences' employees areactively involved in numerous community and civic organizations, and the company dedicates two afternoons each year to working on a human services or earth-friendly service project.
