Tamiami Canal Historic Bridge PD&E Study, FDOT District 6

E Sciences provided technical data collection and reporting for environmental documentation of wetlands, listed species, contamination and water quality for this Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Study regarding the replacement of the historic Tamiami Canal Swing Bridge.

The bridge is a sister to the historic 11th Avenue bridge that separates Fort Lauderdale's Sailboat Bend and Riverside Park neighborhoods. The existing bridge was found to be structurally deficient, functionally obsolete and unable to meet future traffic demands. However, its significance as the oldest functioning bobtail swing bridge in Florida is also being taken into consideration.

E Sciences has produced numerous reports and provided permitting support, including a Wetlands Evaluation Report, Endangered Species Biological Assessment, Contamination Screening Evaluation Report, Essential Fish Habitat analysis, Water Quality Impact Evaluation, and an Environmental Assessment/Finding of No Significant Impact (EA/FONSI).
