I-75 PD&E Study, FDOT District 5

E Sciences, in conjunction with URS Corporation, is providing environmental analysis and permitting assistance for a PD&E study along I-75 in Sumter County, Florida. The project extends approximately 20 miles, from 1.5 miles north of the Hernando County line to just north of Florida’s Turnpike (SR 91).

Services have included conducting wetlands delineation for proposed stormwater pond sites as well as preparing an Endangered Species Biological Assessment report for the entire corridor. E Sciences staff members assessed the project’s potential impact on such species as the bald eagle, Florida scrub jay, wood stork, red-cockaded woodpecker and the Eastern indigo snake.

To ensure the continued mobility of these and other wildlife species, E Sciences proposed that the FDOT incorporate four wildlife underpass crossings into its final design of the project.
