E Sciences Experience

Districtwide NPDES Services, FDOT District 5

E Sciences is employed by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to provide NPDES permit implementation and compliance services.  District Five is located in Central Florida and includes Orange, Seminole, Volusia, Brevard, Marion, Flagler, Osceola, Sumter, and Lake counties.  Primary compliance activities are ongoing within the Phase I municipalities of Orange and Seminole Counties.

Coordination, permit development, and implementation activities are being undertaken in the Phase II MS4s located within Volusia, Brevard, Marion, Osceola, and Lake Counties.

E Sciences is assisting District Five with the development of their comprehensive Phase II program.  Representative tasks include:

• System mapping and inventories
• Stormwater management plan development
• Public education and outreach
• Public involvement and participation
• Illicit discharge detection and elimination
• Construction site stormwater runoff control
• Post construction stormwater management
• Pollution prevention and good housekeeping
